Nearly all 2020 Democratic hopefuls have jumped on the Medicare for All bandwagon, but as the Associated Press points out the legislation includes far-left provisions that could alienate swing voters:
“The legislation from White House hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders, along with a similar measure in the House, lifts curbs on government health insurance for people in the country illegally and revokes longstanding restrictions on taxpayer-funded abortions.”
Democratic presidential candidates are clearly only interested in appealing to the progressive base of the party as they try to navigate the crowded primary field. This approach is sure to backfire as voters realize the true objectives of these extreme policy proposals.
