Week Six of #ConfirmKavanaugh locked in the hearing dates post-Labor day, saw productive meetings with Senators Donnelly and Heitkamp, and explainers on why red-state Democrats should vote yes for Judge Kavanaugh.
To kick off the week, AR2 was quickly on the case with ProPublica‘s request for tips on Judge Kavanaugh sightings at Nationals games:

The Wall Street Journal editorial board laid out the argument that Chairman Grassley is “following the precedents set by Democrats on Kagan,” in regards to document vetting and production procedures.
“The Democratic goal here isn’t transparency. It’s to create enough of a public fuss that a Republican Senator or two gets the political jitters and helps to stall a confirmation vote past the election. The hope is that, as the fight drags on, something will turn up that causes skittish Republicans to vote no.
Republicans are under no obligation to play along, and they would be doing a disservice to the Court if they did. Mr. Grassley is accommodating Democrats according to their own former standards, and he is right to keep on course for a September vote.”
Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino penned an op-ed explaining that “red-state Democratic Senators should listen to constituents and support” Judge Kavanaugh.
“Donnelly and Heitkamp find themselves at a crossroads now that they have met with Kavanaugh. Their constituents strongly favor the judge’s confirmation and recognize that critical issues are at stake with the appointment of the next justice to the Supreme Court…Time will tell as to where their loyalties lie.”
MSNBC questioned Senator Tammy Baldwin on her “nakedly political” decision to opposed Judge Kavanaugh before even meeting with him.
And Democrats resorted to targeting their own party’s Senators with a six-figure ad buy from Demand Justice:
The NTK Network: Left-Wing Group Launches Attack Ads Against Democrats on Supreme Court
“A new left-wing group focused on opposing President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, launched a new set of attack ads against three Democrats on Thursday.
The six-figure ad buy from Demand Justice, a liberal outside group, is airing in Indiana, North Dakota, and West Virginia, and is intended to send a message to Democrat Sens. Joe Donnelly, Heidi Heitkamp, and Joe Manchin, respectively. All three Democrats are up for reelection in November and represent states that Trump won by wide margins in 2016.”
Next week, Senator Claire McCaskill, one of the most vulnerable red-state Democrats up for re-election this year, will meet with Judge Kavanaugh. And finally (breaking all previous precedents), Senator Chuck Schumer will meet with the nominee as well.
