The stunning news that New Jersey Senator Cory Booker will seek the political limelight and testify against Jeff Sessions becomes all the more puzzling when considering comments that he’s made in the past two years.
As NTK Network first reported, just this past February, Booker was effusive in his praise for Sessions as they worked together in a bipartisan manner to pass, “legislation that awarded the 1965 Voting Rights Marches Foot Soldiers the Congressional Gold Medal.”
From NTK Network:
During the ceremony, Booker said of Sessions: “I am humbled to be able to participate here and pay tribute to some of the extraordinary Americans whose footsteps paved the way for me and my generation. I feel blessed and honored to have partnered with Senator Sessions in being the Senate sponsors of this important award.”
On top of this, Booker has a history of urging that the Senate confirm a President’s Attorney General nominee, arguing that the AG job is, “too important for any kind of political games & for any kind of delay.”
These two clips make Booker’s decision to now testify against Sessions very bizarre. He couldn’t possibly be trying to position himself politically in advance of a run for higher office…
