Bernie Sanders is taking a page out of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s book by releasing his own “Green New Deal.”
As a self-avowed socialist, Sanders’ proposal intends to “restructure” the entire American economy. His radical climate change plan would cost taxpayers $16.3 trillion over ten years, diminish our military, and dramatically increase energy costs for consumers.
And this is just the latest in Sanders’ growing list of far-left policies that would bankrupt the country:
- Single-payer health care would cost $32 trillion, eliminate private insurance, and force everyone into a one-size-fits-all government plan.
- Free college and complete student loan forgiveness would cost $2.2 trillion.
- Free paid family leave would cost up to $231 billion.
Sanders readily admits his socialist agenda would raise taxes not just on the wealthy – but on middle-class families. His “Green New Deal” would devastate the economy roll back the historic progress we’ve made under conservative reforms.
