Appearing on Fox Business, former McDonalds USA CEO Ed Rensi lambasted the recent action in California and New York to increase the minimum wage and said that it will be a “job killer.”

Rensi, who started as a grill man at McDonalds in 1966 and worked his way up to become CEO in 1991, also said that small businesses would get “crucified” with the increased minimum wage, as well as the joint employer, noting that the restaurants can’t afford it.

Clearly, Rensi would understand how increasing the minimum wage would crush small businesses and restaurants after his 31 years spent with McDonalds. Unfortunately, big labor special interests are more interested in building a political movement regardless of the economic consequences that their dangerous minimum wage push is causing.
