Attorney General and Democratic candidate for Governor Chris Koster “sought to distinguish himself from the four Republican candidates for Missouri governor during a Sunday question-and-answer session.”

“Koster argued he’s been an advocate for farmers during his time as an elected official, describing action he’s taken against a California regulation on the living conditions of chickens.” However, Koster conveniently neglected to disclose that a federal judge “tossed out” his suit against the state of California.

In 2014, Koster hired an outside California law firm and claimed his regulation suit was not expected to exceed $10,000 to Missouri taxpayers. However, KCTP reported that Koster left Missouri taxpayers on the hook for at least $83,711.59 for his “brief” and “failed” legal foray into “the egg wars.” Additionally, The Kansas City Star went on to call Koster’s egg war with California “blatantly opportunistic.”

Koster claims to be an advocate for farmers, but his failed lawsuit against the state of California and its massive waste of taxpayer dollars is a classic example of Koster misleading Missourians about his suspect record as Attorney General.
