The legislature in Missouri once again proved its commitment to protecting freedom and the second amendment for Missourians by overriding Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of a conceal carry gun bill as reported by National Review:

The Republican-led Legislature enacted the law Wednesday by a 24-6 Senate vote and a 112-41 vote in the House. Both exceeded the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto of Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.

By surpassing the two-thirds majority in the Missouri House and Senate, the enacted legislation will “allow most adults to carry concealed weapons without needing a permit while also expanding people’s right to defend themselves both in public and private places,” according to U.S. News & World Report.

Because of the Legislature’s bold action in overriding the Governor’s partisan veto, Missourians will now have easier access to their Constitutional protected rights. This is a win for freedom in Missouri and ensures that individual’s will be able to protect themselves going forward.
